Fellowship for South Asian Environmental Journalists

Journalists from Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka interested in environmental issues in their region can apply for the New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) fellowship from January to March 2010. Deadline for submission of application is on Dec. 25, 2009. Participants will study, investigate and report on the pressures, conflicts, impacts, actions and inactions that are being played out on their coasts. The fellowship offers journalists an opportunity to travel to look at issues such as climate change, environmental degradation, legislation and regulation, and industrial development, and to write and comment on them. Only published print, video, television and photo journalists are eligible to join. Successful applicants will receive a 50,000 rupee (1,073 U.S. dollars) stipend in two installments.
